About CCB

The Cosmic City Blog (CCB) is an independent blog site devoted to examining the lighter side of daily-life-stuff in and near the great state of Oklahoma (home to the world’s most dysfunctional state legislature), and/or worldwide (when source material in Oklahoma dries up).  Through the clever (if I do say so myself) use of humor, satire, and parody I hope to provide a different perspective to the loads of crap happening around us.  If you find my missives lacking humor or just downright offensive, I suggest you get over yourself.   Oh, and you may want to read a couple of books, The Humor Code: A Global Search for What Makes Things Funny and while you’re at it, Charisma: What It Is and How To Get It (someone gave that to me years ago as a Christmas gift – it was life altering).  Both are available from Amazon.    

CCB’s Chief Blogger (aka, me) is Robin Hohweiler.  I grew up on the Southern Great Plains of Northwest Oklahoma.  Attended school in Woodward and spent a lot of time on the family farm west of town.  I left home at seventeen for the U.S. Navy where I enjoyed a most unusual career path.  I’ve traveled in more than sixty-nine countries (honestly, I lost count), living in two of them.  My work experience outside of the military includes:  

• a short stint in radio (doesn’t pay);   
• work as an editor, newspaper reporter and columnist (really doesn’t pay);   
• ghost author of a few books and magazine articles (ghost writing sucks, you get paid in ghost bucks); 
• real estate sales (I hated being cheerful and nice to people);  
• work as a technical analyst/COO/ops guy (we won’t discuss that); and,   
• work in two states as a private investigator (coolest jobs I ever had).   

I currently reside in a heavily fortified compound (known as The Compound) on the western edge of Woodward County, Oklahoma (just in case you really hate my writing and are stalking me kindly note the phrase "heavily fortified") with The Wife (she makes frequent appearances in the blog) and three dogs of indeterminate ancestry (the dogs, that is...had the wife tested, she's Irish).

It’s the start of a series of books that I hope to continue. Also available on Amazon are two books I co-authored with Dr. Deena Fisher, Woodward: Past and Present and 1947 Woodward Tornado, both published by Arcadia Publishing.  And now for the disclaimer: Co-author Dr. Deena Fisher has nothing to do with The Cosmic City Blog…her attorney made me say that.
